FORT COLLINS, Colo. —
Donald W. Brown, a resident for nine years of 431 W. Swallow Road, Fort Collins, formerly of East Pine Street Extension, Grove City, passed away at 3:01 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in his residence. He was 92.
Mr. Brown was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Albert S. and Gertrude I. Highland Brown.
He married his wife, the former Harriett S. Weckerly, on March 2, 1948, with whom he just celebrated a 70th wedding anniversary.
Don retired in 1979 from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was a machinist and supervisor for 42 years.
He was a member for more than 50 years of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
He was a 50-year member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 603, Grove City; Scottish Rite’s New Castle Consistory; and was a nine-year member of the Fidelity Lodge of Fort Collins. He also belonged to White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of the Eastern Star and the NCT Trailer Club.
For 20 years, he owned Browns Ceramics. Don was an expert at woodcrafting and scrollwork, and was featured in the Wood Crafters magazine in 2002.
Surviving are: his wife, Harriett, Fort Collins; his son, Larry Brown and his wife Joanne, Waukegan, Ill.; his daughter, Shirley Alexander, Fort Collins; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clifton and Harley Brown.

Funeral service was Tuesday (4-6-10) in the funeral home with the Rev. Boyd Smith, pastor of West Unity Community Church, officiating
