Berthamae Blauser, a resident for 50 years of Gill Road, Pine Township, and of College View Towers, 301 S. Broad St., Grove City, since March 2009, passed away unexpectedly at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, in her residence. She was 86.
Mrs. Blauser was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Oil City to Boston Leslie Confer and Lula Rena Chambers Confer.
She was a 1942 graduate of Shippenville High School.
As a homemaker, she was a member of Grove City Alliance Church, Pine Township, and enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Her husband, Chester Eugene Blauser, whom she married Aug. 9, 1946, passed away June 13, 2009.
Surviving are five children, two sons, Fredrick E. Blauser and his wife Gigi, Cortland; and Daniel L. Blauser and his wife Donna, Grove City; and three daughters, Linda M. Graham, Atlantic; Patricia A. Burns and her husband Denny, Grove City; and Hope D. Heckman and her husband Charles, Greenville; two sisters, Geraldine Hale, Oil City; and Deloris Gayette, Franklin; two brothers, Lyle Confer, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Donald Confer and his wife Ann, Franklin; and 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edwin L. Blauser; a grandson, Tye Buchannan Graham; three sisters, Dorothy Confer, Eleanor Emhenizer and Lucille Amon; and a brother, Wade Confer.
Calling hours were Tuesday (3-9-10) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Funeral service was Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Fredrick E. Blauser, Berthamae’s son and pastor of Cortland Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Interment with committal service was Wednesday (3-10-10) at Fertig’s Cemetery, Pinegrove Township, Venango County.
