Katherine Beinhardt, formerly of Madison Avenue, Hermitage, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage. She was 86.
Mrs. Beinhardt was born July 12, 1923, in Kandja, Yugoslavia, to Martin and Katharina Grosseibl Gross.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Maenerchor Club, both Sharon.
Katherine enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Lawrence Beinhardt, whom she married June 4, 1940, passed away Dec. 3, 2005.
Surviving are: a daughter, Marie and her husband Thomas Mosley, Sharon; three sons, Frank Beinhardt and his wife Effie, Burghill; Lawrence Beinhardt and his wife Sandy, Mercer; and Albert Beinhardt, Geneva, Ohio; two brothers, Martin Gross and his wife Anna, Hermitage; and Frank Gross, Uniontown, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Adolf Beinhardt; and an infant sister.
Calling hours were Monday (3-8-10) in Smith Funeral Home, West Middlesex.
Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday (3-9-10) in St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Daniel J. Kresinski, pastor, as celebrant. A brief service was also held Tuesday morning in the funeral home.
Interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
