Rudolph ‘Rudy’ G. Detelich

1970 HHS grad, carpenter leaves sister in Mercer

HERMITAGE — Obituary was published April 24, 2010.

Rudolph “Rudy” G. Detelich of 5805 Miller Road, Hermitage, passed away peacefully Monday (4-19-10) in his home after an extended illness. He was 57.

Mr. Detelich was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Sharon to Rudolph and Catherine Krantz Detelich.

He was an alumnus of Hickory High School, class of 1970.

Rudy was an excellent carpenter by trade and for many years worked with Atlantic Breeders Co. in New York and Pennsylvania.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his friends.

Surviving are: his daughter, Katie and her husband Peter Elberty, Hermitage; his son, Jacob M. Detelich, Indiana, Pa.; three sisters, Sandra and her husband Edward C. Bailey, with whom he made his home, Hermitage; Karen and her husband Ronald Rabold, Mercer; and Cheryl and her husband Ronald Patterson, Sharpsville; two grandchildren, Andrew and Allie Elberty; and several nieces and nephews.

Rudy also leaves his beloved dog, Boo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours are 12:30 p.m. to time of service today (4-24-10) in John A. Palisin Funeral Home, 86 Maple Drive, Hermitage.

Celebration of life memorial service at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Geraldine Williams, Sharon Regional Health System Hospice chaplain, officiating.

Cremation was handled by the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
