Christine Palko Teutsch of 3726 E. State St., Hermitage, formerly of Sharon and Wheatland, passed away peacefully at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Teutsch was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Campbell, Ohio, to Paul and Mary Rosick Palko.
She attended Campbell schools.
Christine as an avid reader and animal lover, especially fond of cats. She enjoyed watching soap operas, playing bingo, doing puzzles and spending time with her family.
Christine was of the Lutheran faith.
Her husband, Steve Teutsch, whom she married Nov. 26, 1949, passed away Oct. 11, 1997.
Surviving are: five daughters, Christine Pierson, Hermitage; Susan and her husband Michael Fitzharris, Holland, Mich.; Marianne Setterberg and her companion Jim Mortimer, Wheatland; Sandee and her husband Gary Peidle, Mercer; and Crystal Teutsch and her companion Karl Menges, New Castle; three granddaughters, Mandy and her husband Josh Weekley, Stacy Setterberg and Kristin Pierson; and a grandson, John Setterberg Jr. and his wife Aimee.
She also leaves four great-grandsons, Peyson and Reegan Weekley; and Nicholas and Nathan Setterberg; a great-granddaughter, Mara Weekley; and two sisters, Ethel and her husband Rich Posivak, Youngstown; and Julia Boone, Houston.
Besides her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tiffany Pierson; and five siblings.
