Eldora Louise Kalp Fithian of Bonita Springs, Fla., died Tuesday, April 27, 2010. She was 90.
She was born March 4, 1920, in Dravosburg, Pa., the eldest of three children of Ward Joseph and Margaret Berger Kalp.
Eldora graduated from Grove City College, where she met and later married the love of her life, George Fithian.
She taught accounting for 23 years at Mt. Vernon (Ohio) High School. Upon retiring, Eldora and George moved to Bonita Springs, where they resided the last 30 years.
A devout Christian, Eldora was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Bonita Springs, for many years.
She and George were fond of traveling and took many wonderful trips to all parts of the world.
Until they are reunited again, Mrs. Fithian leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 67 years, George S. Fithian; a son, Charles Fithian; a daughter, Claire Fithian O’Dell and husband Mike; and three grandchildren, Denise Fithian McEachern and husband Phil; Dawn O’Dell Combs and husband Tom; and Troy O’Dell and wife Masha.
Also, seven great-grandchildren, Sierra and Eric McEachern; Zachary and Jacob Combs; and Adam, Brianna and Christopher O’Dell; a brother, Paul Kalp and wife Shirley; and a sister, Nancy Kalp Shearer.
Eldora is now with her Lord in his eternal home, surrounded by her parents and relatives whom she loved in her earthly life and who went before her.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, in First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.
