Mary K. Fretwell of 315 Cole Road, Sandy Lake, died of natural causes at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday (4-27-10) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 93.
Born Dec. 27, 1916, in Kerens, W.Va., Mrs. Fretwell was a daughter of Perry Jackson Hansford and Maud Bell Ball Hansford.
She attended school in West Virginia.
Mary was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church, Cooperstown, Pa.
She was a dedicated mother to all of her children, particularly her two fine sons, who remained at home with her; she made sure they were always safe and well cared for.
Mary married Charles J. Fretwell on Oct. 23, 1943; he preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1976.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Allen and her husband James, Butler; her two sons, Charles J. “Jack” Fretwell and Kenneth D. Fretwell, both at home; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and six brothers.
Calling hours were Thursday (4-29-10) in Scott A. Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.
Funeral service was Friday (4-30-10) in the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Yauger, pastor of Evangelical Wesleyan Church, Cooperstown, Pa., officiating.
Interment in Zion Cemetery, Worth Township.
