Florence G. Wike, a resident the last 54 years of Eakin Road, Harrisville, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 83.
The daughter of Lawrence K. and Adaline Montgomery Taylor, Florence was born June 26, 1926, in Boyers.
A graduate of Eau Claire High School, she worked many years as the auditor in Irwin Township.
She married Kenneth E. Wike on July 19, 1947, and shared 60 years of marriage with him before he passed away May 17, 2008. Together, they loved to go camping and fishing.
Mrs. Wike was a devoted housewife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A member of Pleasantview Methodist Church, she formerly belonged to Wesley Methodist Church, where she served many years as treasurer for the Sunday school classes. Florence also had been a member of the Tuesday Morning Grove City Ladies Bowling League.
Her friends and family will miss her warm smile and her hug hello.
Mrs. Wike is survived by her five children, Kenneth L. Wike and wife Mary; David E. Wike and wife Maria; Gary L. Wike and wife Barb, all of Grove City; Richard E. Wike; and Kathy J. Wike, both of Harrisville.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Melissa Feilke, Sean Wike, Jody Kearney, Janelle Tasker, Carrie Keber, Jacob Wike and Rachel Wike; and seven great-grandchildren.
Aside from her parents and husband, Mrs. Wike was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Taylor, in 1953; and a grandson, David Wike, who died May 26, 2008.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. today (4-28-10) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald Hankey, pastor of Pleasantview United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment in Pleasantview Cemetery.
