Howard E. McCandless

Stoneboro man born in Butler County was laborer

GROVE CITY — Howard E. McCandless of Stoneboro died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 5, 2012, in Grove Manor, Grove City. He was 83.

Born in Harmony, Butler County, on March 14, 1929, Mr. McCandless was a son of Harold and Olive Lutz McCandless.

Howard had worked as a laborer.

He was the brother of Betty Luntz, wife of Leland, Texas; Lois Nye, Fombell, Beaver County; Harold Richard McCandless, Texas; and Gerald 'Pete' McCandless, Mars, Butler County. He also leaves nieces and nephews.

Burial in Old Union Cemetery, Adams Township, Butler County.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046.

Calling hours were Thursday (12-6-12) in Ficca Funeral Home, Grove City, with a later service by the Free and Accepted Masons.

Funeral service was Friday (12-7-12) in the funeral home, followed by a luncheon in Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
