Rebecca J. Pizor, a resident since 1954 of 153 Pizor Road, Jackson Center, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, after an illness since June 26 of this year. She was 83.
Mrs. Pizor was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Grove City to Thomas F. Ritchey Jr. and Gladys A. Carr Ritchey.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School, class of 1947, and an alumna of Grove City College.
Mrs. Pizor retired from the Mercer County Cooperative Extension office in Coolspring Township, where she was employed for 38 years.
She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer; and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86, Grove City; and was a former member of the Shenango Valley Chorale.
Mrs. Pizor served as judge of elections in Jackson Township for many years.
Becky enjoyed collecting stamps, matchbook covers and Mercer County and State College antique milk bottles.
Her husband, George W. "Bill" Pizor Jr., whom she married June 5, 1954, passed away Aug. 19, 2005.
Surviving are: two children, Deborah J. Engstrom and her husband Jon, Stoneboro; and Robert W. Pizor, Jackson Center; five grandchildren, Adam Engstrom and his wife Allison, Boardman, Ohio; Melissa Engstrom, Erie; Kirsten Pizor and Danielle Pizor, both Sandy Lake; and Donald Pizor, Jackson Center; a brother, Thomas F. Ritchey III and his wife Aggie, Meadville; and a sister, Marjorie Wise and her husband Harold, Cochranton.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours were Nov. 18, 2012, in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Funeral service was Nov. 19, 2012, in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, chaplain of Orchard Manor, Pine Township, officiating.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Grove City.
