Helena "Helen" A. Fragle, a resident of Trinity Living Center of Grove City, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully at 8:38 a.m. Monday (11-12-12), in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after an extended illness. She was 89.
Mrs. Fragle was born April 20, 1923, in Sharon, a daughter of Stephan Z. and Ann Holup Lucas.
She attended Sharon schools growing up and was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Mrs. Fragle had worked for 13 years as a salesperson at The Winner women's clothing store in downtown Sharon.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to Australia five times when her son was living there.
Helen loved cooking Russian and Italian food, attending Tai Chi classes at the Shenango Valley Senior Center, Hermitage, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
Her husband, Frank J. Fragle, whom she married Sept. 5, 1942, died Aug. 9, 1974.
She is survived by: two daughters, Alicia Joy Berns and her husband Norman, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Francine Ann DiNardo and her husband Richard, Mercer; her son, Frank A. Fragale and his wife Anna, St. Louis, Mo.; along with her three grandchildren, Mark DiNardo and his wife Kelly; Mellissa Schaffert and husband Mark; and Ella Fragale; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan DiNardo; and Lucas and Von Schaffert.
Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Alfred Fragle and his wife Edith, Hermitage; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her five sisters, Anna Janosic, Katherine Penick, Mary Chovan, Martha Rossi and Suzanne Rickert; and her five brothers, John, Stephan, Nick, George and Walter Lucas.

Mass of Christian burial was Nov. 16, 2012, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Lucas, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hermitage.
