Fay Naomi Stevens of Pine Township, where she resided since 1950, passed away at 10:33 a.m. Monday (1-21-13), in her residence after a three-year illness. She was 96.
Mrs. Stevens was born June 24, 1916, in Argentine, Butler County, to Harry Edgar Montgomery and Hazel Mae Whitlatch Montgomery.
She was a homemaker and formerly was a seamstress at the former Palmer Smith Linen Co., Grove City.
Mrs. Stevens was a member of Wayside Community Church, Findley Township. She was a former member of both Ladies of the Lions and the Organ Club, Grove City.
Her husband, George Quinby Stevens, whom she married Jan. 13, 1936, died Nov. 18, 1998.
Surviving are: a daughter, Diana Black, Wyalusing, Pa.; a son, David M. Stevens and his wife Marilyn, Grove City; a stepson, Donald L. Stevens and his wife Carol, Mercer; a sister, Jean Campbell, Grove City; six grandchildren, Christopher and Jeremy Black, Jennifer Jill Taylor, Amy King, Laura MacLoed and Peter Stevens; 25 grandchildren, Angela and Joel Taylor; Jillian MacTaggert; Benjamin, Sarah, Steven, Adam, Aaron, Laura Mae and Zachary Taylor; Rebecca, Jessica, George, David, Beatrice, Rachel, Daniel, Samuel, Joseph, Frederick, Abigail, Marilyn and William King; Keegan and Jorja Stevens; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Andrew Black; and a sister, Marian M. Montgomery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (1-23-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (1-24-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Lester Rowan, pastor of Wayside Community Church, Findley Township, officiating.
Interment in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
