SHARON —
Sperry Clark Hogue of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly at 10:12 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 65.
Mr. Hogue was born Nov. 17, 1947, in Altoona, Pa., to Clifford and Carolyn Clark Hogue.
He spent most of his life as a missionary with the Church of Christ in Glenrothes, Scotland, and as a devoted minister for the Church of Christ in Hermitage.
He was the author of two books. "I'm OK Because He's OK" and "Portraits of the Christ."
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose passion was the Lord and teaching His word.
He believed that his greatest achievement was his family. He touched many lives while on this earth and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by: his wife, Gail Paxton Hogue; two children, Nathan Hogue and his wife Stacey, Grove City; and Kristen Renwick and her husband John Anthony, Hermitage; an adopted son, Joe Herrmann; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Clifford J. Hogue Jr., Eva Beach, Hawaii; and Dr. Mark Hogue, Edinboro.; and a sister, Carolyn Eller, Erie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Hogue.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ, 370 Sunset Blvd., Hermitage 16148. These donations will enable the family to honor Sperry's legacy of teaching the gospel by sharing his book, "Portraits of the Christ," with people throughout the world.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (1-25-13) in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ian Starrs of Aberdeen Church of Christ in Scotland, officiating.
Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
