Elizabeth Suich-McClelland of St. Paul's, West Salem Township, formerly of 316 Clinton St., Greenville, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in the nursing home. She was 94.
Mrs. Suich-McClelland was born March 17, 1918, in McKees Rocks, Pa., to Stephen and Bertha Taurzai Kitchen.
She was a member of the Greenville Rotary Club, along with her husband, Wayne. At almost every Rotary meeting, she brought freshly baked cookies to pass around, which the members always looked forward to.
As a member of Hillside Presbyterian Church, she was very active all her life. She enjoyed charity work of all kinds, especially being in charge of coordinating church missions. She performed opening exercises on Sunday mornings before worship service and served as a substitute Sunday school teacher.
She oversaw the Christmas and Easter offerings, as well as served a three-year term as a deacon. In 1991, she was awarded the "Woman of the Year," the second person to receive the award. In 1978, she started a quilting group and was the last remaining member.
Liz was a homemaker in the true sense of the word. At one time, she cared for 15 people in her home and provided seamstress and tailor work for others. She enjoyed cooking and was especially known for baking cookies. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Michael Suich, whom she married May 14, 1935, preceded her in death July 7, 1995. She then married Clyde Wayne McClelland on Sept. 9, 2001; he preceded her in death Feb. 7, 2010.
Liz is survived by: two sons, Michael Suich and his wife Patricia; and Richard Suich and his wife Sandy, all Greenville; a daughter, Laverna Burt and her husband John, also Greenville; a stepson, David W. McClelland, Jamestown; four stepdaughters, Marjorie Boyd and Nancy Little, both Fredonia; Diane Dawson, Mercer; and Jill Axtell, Greenville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Stephen J. Kitchen and Ernest Kitchen; two sisters, Mary Spanard and Helen Wassel; two grandsons, Michael Diehl and John "Terry" Allen Diehl, whom she helped raise; and a stepson, Donald McClelland.

Funeral and committal services was Monday in the church, with the Rev. Dr. Aland D. Smith, pastor, and the Rev. Ray B. Brugler, parish associate, co-officiating.
Interment in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.
