NEW CASTLE —
Martha D. Reardon of 153 Birdhouse Lane, New Castle, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Jan. 3, 2013, in Edison Manor Nursing Center, New Castle. She was 88.
Mrs. Reardon was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Sharpsville, a daughter of William and Ella Dunlevy Downey.
Martha worked for Shenango Inc. in Pittsburgh for 44 years. She was an executive assistant to the president of the company.
Mrs. Reardon was an avid golfer and bowler. She was a member of several different leagues and was a former member of the Auxiliary of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Beaver Falls.
Martha married Paul R. Reardon, who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1977.
Mrs. Reardon is survived by two nephews, Brian H. Boyd and his wife Marcia; and Mark E. Boyd, all Slippery Rock; a great-nephew, Joshua Boyd, Slippery Rock; a great-niece, Casey Kurutz, New Castle; and three great-great-nieces and a great-great-nephew.
In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Nancy Boyd and Helen McDeavitt.

A procession from the funeral home was Saturday for St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where a Mass of Christian burial and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at noon. The Rev. Frank D. Almade, pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, will be the celebrant.
Burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
