Vera Anna Hoffman of Sugar Creek Station, Venango County, who resided in the Irwin Township area her entire life, passed away Saturday (1-5-13). She was 98.
Born Oct. 22, 1914, in Irwin Township, she was a daughter of Lawrence H. Farren and Mary E. Lewis Farren.
Vera received her education in Jones School House and the former Wesley High School.
She married Delbert D. Hoffman on June 5, 1935; he passed away on June 28, 2005. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Vera was a member of Peters Chapel United Methodist Church.
A devoted housewife and mother, Vera was a member of the Clintonville Woman's Club.
Vera enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two children, her daughter, Charlotte McFadden, Grove City; and her son, Jack D. Hoffman and his wife Bonnie, Franklin; seven grandchildren, Kurt McFadden, Kent and his wife LouAnn McFadden, Karl and his wife Melodye McFadden, Kris McFadden, Richard and his wife Barbara Hoffman, Clint and his wife Melissa Hoffman, and Lucas and his wife Brooke Hoffman; nine great-grandchildren, Jared McFadden, Joshua McFadden and Kaitlyn McFadden; and Hunter, Kyle, Sydney, Danielle, Karter and Kathryn Hoffman; and a sister, Betty Jean Frantz, Warren, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Patterson and Adeline Riddle; and four brothers, Paul, Otis, Kenny and Lee Farren.

Funeral service were Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Melody Kimmel, pastor of Peters Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
