GROVE CITY —
Edwin "Al" Rodgers, formerly of Superior Street, Grove City, died at 8:28 p.m. Sunday (12-23-12) in Trinity Living Center, Grove City, following an extended illness. He was 76.
He was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Mercer to Audley and Sarah McConnell Rodgers.
He married Dolores J. "Dee" Simpson on Oct. 27, 1962. She passed away April 1, 2003.
He retired in 1992 from Sharon Steel Corp., where he was a machine operator for 41 years.
He was a member of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan R. McCallister and her husband David J., Volant; two grandchildren, Hanah R. and Cole D. McCallister; four sisters, Eleanor Bartholomew; Jane Heini, Mercer; Grace Gibson, Greenville; and Patty Sorg, Fredonia; two brothers, Tom Rodgers, Sharon; and Pearson Rodgers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and seven other siblings.
Calling hours were Thursday (12-27-12) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Funeral service was Friday (12-28-12) in the funeral home with the Rev. Janice Good, associate pastor of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, officiating.
Burial in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City.
