PITTSBURGH —
Sarah A. Maher, a resident for two years of Moreland Drive, Franklin, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness. She was 73.
Mrs. Maher was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Carmichaels, Pa., to Gildas E. and Kathryn A. Miller Davies.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School and attended Grove City College.
Mrs. Maher was a homemaker and formerly owned a restaurant in Meadville. She was in the catering business for many years.
Sarah was a member of Christ Community Church, Oil City.
Her husband, the Rev. William J. Maher, whom she married Sept. 29, 1964, survives at home.
Also surviving are three children, the Rev. Elizabeth Brown and her husband David, Dublin, Ohio; Kathryn Anne Bakker and her husband Clarence, Franklin; and Joe Maher and his wife Janet, Grove City; six grandchildren, Riley and Maddison Bakker; Trey Maher; and Ben, Will and Luke Brown; and a brother, Gil Davies and his wife Millie, Denver, Colo.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours were Friday (12-21-12) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Funeral service was Friday in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Janz, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Franklin, officiating.
Interment in Center Church Cemetery, Pine Township.
