GROVE CITY —
Bertha Mahood, Worth Township, Butler County, passed away at Trinity Living Center, Grove City, at 1:05 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. She was 86.
Mrs. Mahood was born July 24, 1926 in Jupiter, Fla., Palm Beach County, to William and Alice Kitchen Benton.
She worked as a waitress for many years at The Spot Restaurant in Harrisville. She also worked as an 'in-home' personal care giver.
Bertha was a Baptist and loved by all.
She married Emmett Jones, who died in 1963; and later married Raymond Mahood, who died in 1972.
Surviving are: a son, Stephen P. Jones, husband of Janie, Tamarac, Fla.; a daughter, Anita A. Cooper, wife of David, Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Lisa M. Walton, wife of Bobby; Stephanie Jones; and Stephen Jones; three great grandchildren, John Uber II, James Davidson and Joshua McCracken, husband of Tawnie.
Besides her two loving husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends were received Monday (11-26-12) in Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock.
Funeral service was in the funeral home Tuesday (11-27-12) with the Rev. Thomas Meling, pastor of the Zion Baptist Church, Worth Township, presiding.
Interment in Zion Baptist Cemetery, Worth Township.
