PITTSBURGH —
Joseph A. Davis of 286 Clinton St., Greenville, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after a brief and sudden illness. He was 58.
Mr. Davis was born March 1, 1954, in Johnstown, Pa., to William and Vernetta Hildebrand Davis, who survive him in Johnstown.
He graduated from Conemaugh Valley School District, the Shenango campus of Penn State University, Sharon, and summa cum laude from Slippery Rock University.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired teacher.
Mr. Davis attended Coolspring Presbyterian Church in Fairview Township.
He enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing and trips to Canada. He also loved his dog, Beau.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his wife, at home, the former Ann R. Jones, whom he married May 3, 1986.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Carey L. Bacon, Sharpsville; Alyssa R. Davis, Sandy Lake; and Shana M. Davis, Greenville; three grandchildren, Alexis, Madison and Kaden; four brothers, William Davis and his wife Robin; Gerald Davis and his wife Angela; Scott Davis; and Darryl Davis and his wife Barb, all Johnstown; a brother-in-law, Mark Jones and his wife Sandra, Hadley; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Harrison and her husband Donald.
