William B. Ritchey

Award-winning driver was past Eagles president

PINE — William B. Ritchey of Grove City, died late Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2013, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township. He was 79.

Mr. Ritchey was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Bedford, Pa., to Blair and Thelma Ritchey.

He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School class of 1953.

He was employed for 40 years with Ward Trucking, Barkeyville, and through the years received numerous awards for excellence in driving and safety.

Mr. Ritchey was a member and past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1895, Grove City, and a past member of Free and Accepted Masons, Blair County.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by: his wife, Janet I. Ritchey, Grove City, whom he married in 1979; two daughters, Connie L. Ritchey Flasher, Lewisberry, Pa.; and Bonnie J, Ritchey, Hermitage; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline Menzies, Grove City; two grandchildren; a stepgrandson; two great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Wicker, Altoona, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

Calling hours were Friday (2-22-13) in Ficca Funeral Home, Grove City.

Funeral service was Friday in the funeral home with a time of fellowship after the service. The Rev. Robert Pascoe, chaplain of Amedisys Hospice, Butler, officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 240 Pullman Square, Suite 255, Butler, PA 16001.
