Donald W. Dusch of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully at 4:40 a.m. Saturday (9-29-12) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. He was 84.
Mr. Dusch was born July 18, 1928 in Dubois, Pa., the son of Thomas O. and Velma L. Boyer Dusch. He attended Dubois High School.
He retired in 1990 from the former Sharon Steel Corp. after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church.
Don loved music and was in charge of the music jamboree for many years at the Jackson Grange #1506, where he had been a member for 28 years. He was a musician and played the guitar and was also well known as "tub player" and played locally with the Baun Brothers and various others.
He enjoyed hunting and loved fishing. He was a Navy veteran serving during peacetime.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Sharon Louise Dusch and two brothers, Thomas V. Dusch and Robert D. Dusch.
His wife, the former Lillian R. McAfoose, whom he married Jan. 24, 1949, survives at home; also surviving are four daughters, Peggy A. Donaldson and her husband, Rodger L. Patton, Lakeland, Fla.; Karen E. Brocklehurst and her husband, David "Red" of Jackson Center; Karla R. Roberts, Centerville, Pa; and Donna L. Barnes and her husband, Gordon, of Lakeland.; one son, Paul W. Dusch and his wife, Jackie, of Charleston, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Pagan and her husband, Edward, of Sligo, Pa.
Calling hours were Monday (10-1-12) in Scott A. Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.
Service was Tuesday (10-2-12) in the funeral home with the Rev. James G. Young, pastor of Methodists United in Faith, officiating.
Burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Sigel, Pa., Jefferson County.
