Construction supervisor volunteered at church

SHARON — Anthony J. Falconi Sr. of Farrell, passed away Thursday Oct. 11, 2012, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 87.

Mr. Falconi was born Jan. 24, 1925 in Sharon to his parents, Louis Falconi and Rose Sarcinella Falconi.

After returning home from the war, he married his beloved wife, Lucille Pellis Falconi, in 1946; she preceded him in death in 1997.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, Farrell; Shenango Valley Italian War Veteran  25 and the Shenango Valley Sons of Italy  875.

Mr. Falconi remained a dedicated Farrell Steelers football fan and was a member of the Touchdown Club. But the real joy of his life was his family. He had immense pride in his eight children and 16 grandchildren.

His family will always remember with love time spent with him, especially through the Christmas season, sharing in the traditional Italian fashion with food and the annual production of the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Mr. Falconi is survived by: his children, Louis Falconi and his wife Patricia, Farrell; John Falconi and his wife Lesa, Sharpsville; James Falconi, Farrell; Thomas Falconi and his wife Kathy; and Janet Petricini and her husband Anthony, all Sharpsville; Rosemary Long and her husband James, Mercer; and Gina Ellison and her husband Matthew, Sharpsville; 16 grandchildren, Lori Creehan and her husband Casey, Lisa Otterbein and her husband Steve, Lois Falconi Jr., John Falconi Jr., Victoria Falconi, Vincent Falconi, Kelsey Falconi, Kaitlyn Falconi, Amy Petricini, Anthony Petricini Jr., James Long Jr., Jennifer Long, Jackson Long, Maria Ellison, Matthew Ellison Jr. and Michael Ellison; and a sister, Marie Napolitan, Farrell.
