Gerald L. Smith of Pine Township, passed away Friday evening, March 1, 1013, in the emergency room of Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 62.
Mr. Smith was born July 6, 1950, in Venango County to Gerald Wayne Smith and Betty Lou Sloat Smith.
He was employed for the past 12 years at George Junior Republic, Grove City and Pine Township, where he was a night watchman.
Gerald was a knifesmith, gunsmith and a master machinist. He was an avid hunter and movie buff.
His wife, the former Deborah Sue Rankin, whom he married Aug. 17, 1972, died March 10, 2006.
Survivors include: three daughters, Rachel D. Smith and her husband Clinton Johnson, Grove City; and Ginny Deitrick, Charleston, W.Va.; and Robin Smith, Harrisville; his mother, Betty Smith, Rimersburg, Clarion County; his companion and friend, Joyce Brick, Grove City; a sister, Sandra J. Krisiak, Harrisville; four brothers, Wayne Smith and his wife Pamela, Parker, Clarion County; Danny Smith and his wife Rita, Sligo, Pa.; Randall Smith, Grove City; and Mark Smith, Rimersburg; and three grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
