DELAWARE TOWNSHIP —
Memorial service is June 30 for Dennis J. Harrold, 1602 Mercer Road, Delaware Township, who died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62.
Mr. Harrold was born July 20, 1949 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Vincent "Red" and Helen Butler Harrold.
On April 20, 1992, he married the former Marcia L. Noble, who survives.
Dennis was a Marine veteran, having attained the rank of sergeant and had served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He had been employed by the U.S. Department of Defense and worked at the Pentagon with the government printing office as a printing specialist. He most recently had been employed by Muscle Product Corporation in Jackson Center.
Dennis was a member of the Big Bend United Methodist Church, Mercer.
He enjoyed golfing with the Monday Morning Golf League at Birchwood Golf Course and bowling with the Tuesday Evening Bowling League in Mercer.
Besides his wife of 20 years, surviving are: a sister, Beverly Rochon, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Jerry Harrold, Philadelphia; a half sister, Ann Erickson, wife of Gary, Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (6-30-12) in the Charleston United Methodist Church, 1169 Greenfield Road, Hermitage, with the Rev. Chris Groeger, former pastor of Big Bend United Methodist Church, Mercer, officiating.
Military honors by the Bantam Marine Corps League Detachment 743; and the New Castle Military Honor Guard.
