SHARON —
Sophia "Sophie" Perfilio, formerly of Sharpsville and John XXIII Home, Hermitage, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Hospice Care of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 90.
Mrs. Perfilio was born March 26, 1922, in Mercer, a daughter of Daniel and Anna Hromyak Fisher.
She attended Mercer schools. In her early years, Sophie worked as a waitress and cook.
Mrs. Perfilio was a member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville.
She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed listening to music, attending the senior center in Hermitage and talking about current political events.
Sophie was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her family.
She is survived by: her sons, Paul, married to the former Jane Szakach, Tennessee; Richard, married to the former Karen Enos, Sharon; and Terrance "Bud," married to the former Evann Steklachick, Farrell.
She is also survived by: her grandchildren, Ellen, Florida; Michael and his wife Julia, Tennessee; Brian, State College, Pa.; and Terry, Farrell; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ally, both Tennessee; a sister, Violet Reeves, Hermitage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, whom she married July 15, 1946; sisters, Mary Nichols and Katherine Gligor; and brothers, Samuel, Rudy, John "Jack" and George.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the caregivers, especially Debbie, Sandy and Michele, and the staff at John XXIII Home.

Funeral Mass was Monday (1-28-13) in St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. Marc A. Stockton, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made in Sophie's name to St. Bartholomew's Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150.
