OIL CITY —
Rita E. Tanner, Clintonville, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Oil City. She was 64.
Mrs. Tanner was born Feb. 27, 1948 in Mars to Howard M. and Dorothy J. Zwayer Werner.
Rita graduated from Freedom High School.
She worked as a teller for over 25 years at Farmers National Bank in Emlenton. She also worked at Mercer County State Bank in Clintonville.
Rita was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville and had been an Sunday School teacher in church years prior.
Rita loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with the entire family.
She married the love of her life, Edward Tanner, on Oct. 14, 1967. He survives.
Also surviving are: her son, Kenneth A. Tanner, husband of Roxanne, Kutztown; a daughter, Jennifer L. Sorger, wife of Richard, Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren, Caleb E. and Samantha I. Tanner; and Nathan A. and Grace E. Sorger; four sisters, Sylvia Kendell, wife of Bill, Shipping Port, Pa.; Susan Buttermore, wife of Dave, Prospect; Nancy Urban, wife of Frank, Zelienople; and Wendy Waslow, wife of Rich, New Sewickley; three brothers, Earl Warner, husband of Ruth, in Michigan; Rodney Warner, husband of Arlen, Ardmore; and Martin Warner, husband of Nancy, in Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were received Thursday (1-10-13) and Friday (1-11-13) in Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, Clintonville.
Funeral service was Friday in Union Presbyterian Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Anthony Catullo, pastor, officiating. Condolences may be emailed by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net
