GROVE CITY —
Barbara Jean Reiss, Grove City, formerly of Ingram, Pa., died at 10 a.m. Tuesday (12-25-12) at home. She was 69.
She was born June 15, 1943, in Pittsburgh, to George Joseph and Wilma (Lingerski) Mayer.
She married Edward Joseph Reiss on Feb. 19, 1966. He survives.
She had worked for Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh and later University of Pittsburgh Bookcenter. When she came to Grove City, she had worked at the Grove City Outlets and did volunteer work at Grove City Medical Center and Grove City Community Library.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and walking.
She was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City, and its Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Christine A.) Wolowic of Grove City; three sons, Joseph G. Reiss of Milwaukee, Wis., Mark E. Reiss (Jennifer) of Venice, Fla., Michael F. Reiss of San Diego, Calif.; and a sister, Celene M. Dumont (Robert) of Allison Park, Pa.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Cassandra "Cassie" and Robert "Rew" Wolowic, Mackenzie "Kenzie" and Nicholas "Nick" Reiss.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours were Sunday (12-30-12) in Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday (12-31-12) in The Church of the Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. (Route 208), Grove City, with the Rev., Michael Allison, pastor, officiating.
Burial in St. Martin's Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St., Grove City, PA 16127 or to the Grove City Community Library.
