COOLSPRING —
Cynthia Lea Golis, 704 Sarsi Trail, Coolspring Township, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 57.
She was born April 29, 1955, in Valley Forge, Pa., the daughter of John E. Sr. and Ruth Anna Glessner Cornelius.
She was previously employed at Slippery Rock University.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Cindy loved spending time with her children, family and dogs. She also loved to travel, spend time at the beach and play cards and games.
Cindy married Stanley W. Golis, New Castle, on Feb. 5, 1977. They divorced in 2010.
She is survived by: four children, Stanley Golis and his wife Cindi, Avon, Ind., Lea Golis, wife of Claudio Proserpio, New York, Kathleen Golis at home, and Zachary Golis, Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Marcia Staul, wife of Jeffrey, Mercer, and Lori Smith, Hermitage; two brothers, John E. Cornelius Jr. and wife Donna, Franklin, and Mark Cornelius and wife Stacey, Salisbury, Md.; three grandchildren, Avalon Lynn, Zosia Ann Golis and Luca Sebastian Proserpio; and nieces and nephews including Jess and Aurora Proper, Christie Cornelius, Renee and Eric Staul, Rachel Harakal, Jamie Smith and Danielle and Luke Cornelius.

Calling hours were Sunday (12-23-12) in Cunningham Funeral Home, Mercer.
Funeral service was Monday (12-24-12) in the funeral home with Pastor James M. Seeley, Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grove City, officiating.
Burial in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
