FARRELL —
David Mead Urey III of Hubbard, died Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2013, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 55.
He was born July 13, 1957, in Mercer, a son of David Mead Urey Jr. and Charlotte Ann Amos and moved to Hubbard 33 years ago, coming from Mercer.
Mr. Urey was a self-employed advertiser for General Outdoor Advertising for more than 20 years and previously worked for Naegle Outdoor Advertising.
He received his bachelor's degree from Clarion University in business and management.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hubbard, where he served as an elder and a deacon.
David was a mason at Copper Penny Lodge in Vienna.
He was a member of Farrell Moose Lodge 55, Harley Owners Group, Hubbard Gridiron Club, the former Buhl Club and Sharon American Legion Post 299, and a former member of the Mercer Jaycees.
David refereed PIAA high school football and previously coached football for the Hubbard Little Eagles.
He leaves his mother, Charlotte Ann Urey, Mercer; his wife, the former Diana Gail Schrecengost, whom he married May 31, 1980, at home; a son, David Mead Urey IV, at home; two daughters, Amanda Leah Urey, at home; and Jessica Ann Urey, Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Doug E. Urey, West Newton, Pa.; and two sisters, Becky Jo (Ed) Watkins, Tomball, Texas; and Jeanne "Magee" (Bill) Redmond, Mercer.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Mead Urey Jr.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hubbard Little Eagles Football Program.
