GROVE CITY —
Jean E. Walter, of Orchard Manor, Grove City, and a lifetime resident of Grove City who formerly lived in Fellowship Manor, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in the nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was 89.
Ms. Walter was born April 9, 1923, in Grove City to Charles Rankin Walter and Winifred McBride Walter.
She never married.
Jean was a caretaker for many individuals and families throughout the years in the Grove City area and formerly she was a custodian at the Mercer County Courthouse.
She was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
Jean was a graduate of Grove City High School.
She liked the outdoors and playing bingo and enjoyed time spent with her family.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by: her parents; three sisters, Ruth E. Coulson, Pauline C. Phipps and Florence L. Montgomery; four brothers, Francis Marion "Pete", Clyde O., William E. and David E. Walter; and one nephew, Clair David Phipps Jr.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial tributes can be made to the Grove City Community Food Pantry, 114 S. Center Street., Grove City, PA 16127.
Arrangements will be announced by Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
