Harry Edward Osborne, 504 Lincoln Ave., Grove City, died Monday evening (10-1-12) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 87.
Mr. Osborne was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Forestville, Pa., to Frank R. and Margaret B. Dresch Osborne.
A graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he ran the yard office at Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, retiring in 1985.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Osborne served as a corporal in an anti-aircraft artillery unit in the European theater during World War II, participating in the Battle of Central Europe and the Battle of Rhineland. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 519, Grove City.
Mr. Osborne belonged to Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, and was a past member of LeVets Drill Team. He was a former volunteer for Grove City Food Pantry.
His wife, the former Phyllis Patterson, whom he married Jan. 7, 1949, survives at home.
Also surviving are: his daughter, Mrs. Terry (Dana Osborne) Kiser, Pawleys Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Mrs. Blake (Lauren Kiser) Meekins; and Mitchell Osborne Kiser and his wife Suzie, all Columbia, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Bryce Edward Meekins and Avery Elizabeth Meekins.
Harry was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bruce Osborne, at the age of 5.
Calling hours were Thursday (10-4-12) in Ficca Funeral Home, Grove City.
Funeral service was Friday (10-5-12) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Janice Good, associate pastor of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, officiating.
Interment in Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.
