GROVE CITY —
Anna E. Dumbroski of Pine Township, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, in Grove Manor, Grove City, after a brief illness. She was 98.
Mrs. Dumbroski was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Farrell to John and Theresa Weiss Paulitz.
Anna attended Farrell schools and graduated high school from St. Joe's in Sharon.
Anna was a homemaker and together with her husband, Francis L. Dumbroski, whom she married May 25, 1940, raised seven children. He preceded her in death April 14, 1975.
As an active member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Pine Township, participated in craft and Bible classes within the church.
She was a past member of the Hemlock and Millbrook granges and belonged to Pomona State and National granges and the New Vernon Grange, Clarks Mills.
She was a charter member of the Friendly Home and Arts Club, Grove City, and formerly was a news correspondent for the Allied News for 20 years.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafts, crocheting and reading.
Anna is survived by: three daughters, Frances McCommon and her husband Wayne, Grove City; Phyllis McClenahan and her husband Charles, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and Laura Opalenik and her husband Paul, Wakeman, Ohio; three sons, John Dumbroski and his wife Nancy, Belleville, Ill.; Lawrence Dumbroski, Thornton, Colo.; and Paul Dumbroski and his wife Angie, Grove City; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Leonard Paulitz, Montclair, Calif.; and Fred Paulitz and his wife Ruth, Ispwich, Mass.
Besides her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Dumbroski; a grandson, Douglas McCommon; a great-granddaughter, Lauren McCommon; five sisters, Theresa, Mary, Elizabeth, Louise and Catherine Paulitz; and two brothers, Floyd and John Paulitz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anna's memory to Grove City Community Library, 125 W. Main St., Grove City, PA 16127.
Calling hours were Monday (3-4-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday (3-5-13) in Church of the Beloved Disciple, Pine Township, with the Rev. Michael P. Allison, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment in Funeral Mass in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
