HARRISVILLE —
Charles L. Alcorn of Harrisville, died unexpectedly Friday (2-22-13) in his residence. He was 46.
Born Feb. 22, 1967, in Greenville, he was a beloved son of Charles "Junior" and Sandra Wike Alcorn. They survive.
He was a 1985 graduate of Franklin High School and Venango County Vo-Tech. He also attended Penn State and earned an associate degree in business in 1993.
Charlie started his welding career at Reed Welding in Grove City and later worked for Witherup Fabrication and Erection in Kennerdell. While working for Witherup's, he traveled quite extensively, including to Puerto Rico.
He was currently employed for Martix SME, where he was superintendent consultant for the company. He recently spent 18 months in Newfoundland for work.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all forms of hunting and fishing. He was quite proud of the fact that he got a "Pennsylvania Grand Slam" while on crutches. He also competed in national archery competitions and often won first place.
He was also well-known for his kindness and generosity. He was always there to lend a tool, a helping hand and anything else that anyone ever needed. Accordingly, he was also recently inducted into the Free Mason Society in Franklin.
He proposed to his fiance Marcy Brown Lusher this past June and they planned to be married this upcoming Fourth of July.
In addition to his parents and fiance, he is survived by two sisters, Angel Alcorn, Pittsburgh; and Renee Alcorn, Grove City; and a brother, Robert Alcorn and his wife Lisa, Kennerdell.
Also surviving are two special children, Dalton and Julia Lusher, Franklin; nieces, Rachel Chytil and her husband Thor, Pittsburgh; Kaylyn and Cheyanne Himes, Grove City; and Emily and Ashley Alcorn, Kennerdell; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Arabell Alcorn; and his maternal grandparents, Catherine and William Wike.
