SHARON —
Louise Helen Coxson McFarland of Sharon, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 77.
Mrs. McFarland was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Brookfield to Albert and Bernice Rummell Coxson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Goldie, wife of Jack Leary; her sister, Bessie Marie; and her brother, Huston, and sister, Mary, both of whom died at birth. Elizabeth Mathews McFarland, her daughter-in-law, also preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Sharon, where she was active with West Hill Ministries and the food pantry. She derived her greatest enjoyment from spending time with her family.
Mrs. McFarland is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald; and four children, David, Coraopolis, Pa.; Robert and his wife Elizabeth, Federal Way, Wash.; Shirley Fair and her husband Robert, Hermitage; and Dale and his wife Bonnie, Sharon. She is also survived by five granddaughters, Sarah, wife of John Darraugh, Mercer; Jennifer, wife of Scott Shaffer, New Castle; Christina McFarland, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and her fiancŽ Daniel Coats; and Kathryn and Margaret McFarland, both Federal Way; and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Shaffer.
Mrs. McFarland is also survived by a brother, Albert Coxson Jr.; and a sister, Lillian Broadhurst, in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to First Baptist Church, 301 W. State St., Box 635, Sharon, PA 16146.

Memorial service at 1 p.m. today (2-9-13) in First Baptist Church, 301 W. State St., Sharon, with the Rev. John M. Trojak, pastor; the Rev. Cindy R. Swogger, director of West Hill Ministries, Sharon; and the Rev. David McFarland, son of Louise and pastor at First Baptist Church of McKees Rocks, Stowe, Pa., co-officiating.
