PITTSBURGH —
John K. Shaffer of 716 Theresa Ave., Hermitage, passed away at 12:41 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, from complications of acute leukemia. He was 28.
Mr. Shaffer was born Jan. 9, 1984, in Greenville, a son of Kenneth E. and Cathy A. Hutson Shaffer.
John was a graduate of the former Rhema Christian Academy in New Wilmington, then graduated with a degree in business management from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
He attended Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer.
John had worked in management at the Rennisance Hotel, West Chester, N.Y. Previously he had worked in management at the Airport Marriott Hotel in Pittsburgh.
John enjoyed working with computers, reading and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Hermitage; and his sister, Mindy Crenshaw, Sacremento, Calif.; along with an aunt and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. to time of service Thursday (1-10-13) in Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon.

Memorial service at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. F. Stanley Keehlwetter, dean of chapel at Grove City College, officiating.
