JEFFERSON TWP — Zachary Harley Porterfield of 2367 Lake Road, Jefferson Township (Sharpsville), passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, due to a motor vehicle accident. He was 19.

Mr. Porterfield was born Aug. 17, 1993, in Sharon to Frank E. Porterfield and Maryellen R. Barkley Porterfield.

A 2011 graduate of Mercer High School, he was employed at Champion Carrier, Hermitage.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and drag racer.

Surviving are: his parents; a sister, Tera Porterfield; and a brother, Ty Porterfield, all at the residence; his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Barkley, Mercer; and paternal grandparents, Frank J. and Sandra Porterfield, Sharpsville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald A. Barkley.

Family and friends are asked to please dress in camo attire if desired.

Calling hours are 8 a.m. to time of service today (12-22-12) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.

Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. today in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Siel of Mercer Free Methodist Church officiating.

Interment in Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
