JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. —
Terry L. Sanford Sr. of 1532 S. State Line Road, Masury, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in Jackson County, Wis. He was 63.
Born June 6, 1949, in Grove City, Mr. Sanford was a son of Clarence M. and Bertha V. Anderson Sanford.
Mr. Sanford was a graduate of Franklin High School.
He then enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam.
Mr. Sanford was a truck driver for more than 18 years for Swift Trucking Co. of Phoenix and received the Million Mile Safe Driving Award in 1998.
For the past three years, he was a driver for Bay and Bay Trucking out of Rosemont, Minn. He loved being a truck driver and was a trainer for many other truck drivers. He loved going to casinos. Terry was a jokester and was known for his wonderful sense of humor.
He was a loving father to his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: a daughter, Michelle Sanford, Atlantic; a son, Terry L. "JR" Sanford Jr. and his wife Tracy, Masury; five grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Gibbs and her husband Lester, York, Pa.; and Linda Lewis and her husband Jerry, Mercer; and five brothers, Robert Sanford, Richmond, Va.; Thomas Sanford and his wife Mabel, Mercer; Raymond Sanford, Franklin; Clarence Sanford, Richmond; and Fred Coast, Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Terry L. Sanford, in 1974; and two sisters, Ellis Jane Anderson and Audrey Joanne Coast.
Calling hours were Friday (12-14-12) in Scott A. Back Funeral Home, Stoneboro.
Funeral service was Friday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dominic Verdell, associate pastor of Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage, officiating.
