GROVE CITY —
Esther E. Annable Hoffman, formerly of Collegeview Towers, Grove City, passed away after a four-year illness at 12:48 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Grove Manor, Grove City, where she was a resident since March of 2009. She was 94.
Mrs. Hoffman was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Ellwood City, Pa., to Daniel Kirk Cole and Rose Vandella Dooley Cole.
Esther retired in 1978 from the former Bashline Memorial Hospital of Grove City, where she was a nurse for many years.
She was a member since 1943 of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Bashline School of Nursing, Grove City.
Her husband, William Lawrence Annable, whom she married Jan. 29, 1944, passed away April 3, 1958.
Survivors include: two children, Carol L. Forker and her husband David, Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Dr. William L. Annable and wife Cathy, Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Gretchen Kubicek, Mentor, Ohio; Morgen Forker-Lotath and her husband Daniel, Salt Lake City, Utah; Dr. R.J. Annable and wife Dr. Breese Annable, Asheville, N.C.; and Elizabeth Annable, Mentor; and two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Jack Kubicek, also Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Faith Badger; six brothers, Creighton, Phillip, Calvin, William, David and Paul Cole; and a cousin whom the family considered a brother, Robert Dooley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tower Presbyterian Church, 248 S. Broad St.; or Grove Manor, 435 N. Broad St., both Grove City, PA 16127.
Calling hours were Tuesday (3-5-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.
Funeral services was Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Deck, pastor of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, officiating.
Interment in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
