HERMITAGE —
Obituary was published Aug. 28, 2010.
June I. Maxwell Stull of John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, formerly of Clifford Drive, both Hermitage, and of Sharon, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and her husband at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Stull was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Sharon to Robert Ray Maxwell and Florence Myrtle Cummings Maxwell.
She was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.
In her younger years, Mrs. Stull worked as a secretary for the former Sharon office of Boy Scouts of America.
A homemaker, her hobbies included knitting, cooking and collecting recipes. In her younger years, June enjoyed ice skating at Buhl Park and roller skating, during which time she met her husband, Hap.
As a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Mrs. Stull had been involved in the missions committee, taught Sunday school and was active in the youth group. Most recently, she attended New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington.
Her passions in life were her love for her family as well as for all children; and for others to know and have a relationship with Christ.
Her husband, Lloyd S. “Hap” Stull, whom she married May 25, 1950, passed away June 27, 2009.
Surviving are: a daughter, Barbara J. and her husband David Mannion, Hermitage; a son, David L. Stull and his wife Gina, Gilbertsville, Pa.; two granddaughters, Kristie Schohn and Kaitlyn Mannion; three grandsons, Eric and Matthew Stull; and Christian Mannion; three great-grandsons, Logan and Ian Schohn; and Samuel Stull; and two great-granddaughters, Elena Schohn and Lilly Stull.
Mrs. Stull also leaves Brandon Moon, Mercer; and Stephen Pass, Sharon, both to whom she referred as her “adopted grandsons.”
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Laura Palmer; and two brothers, Clyde and Howard Maxwell.
June’s prayer within this last year was to be with her Savior and reunite with the love of her life, her husband; she wanted everyone to celebrate that event.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. to time of service today (8-28-10) in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State St., Sharon. Condolences may be e-mailed to stevensonfh1 @verizon.net.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. today in the church with Pastor Chris Wright of Covenant Church and the Rev. Ron Nagel of New Life Baptist Church, New Wilmington, co-officiating.
Interment in Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
Arrangements by Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon.
Memorial contributions may be made, specified to the missions programs at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146; or New Life Baptist Church, Route 208, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
