BUTLER —
William H. Dilley, Stoneboro, formerly of Cochranton, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Monday (12-3-12) in Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was 78.
Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Cochranton, he was a son of Stanley A. and Autumn H. Smith Dilley.
He was a 1954 graduate of Cochranton High School.
Mr. Dilley worked many years at Channellock of Meadville and then several years for the Cochranton Cemetery Association.
He was a member of the Lakeview Church of God, Stoneboro.
Mr. Dilley loved old cars, especially Studebakers.
In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and taking his children fishing. He loved spending time on the computer doing research.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
His wife of 56 years the former Beverly A. Spence, whom he married Sept. 7, 1956, survives at home. Also surviving are: two daughters, Pamela S. Moon and her husband Robert M. Moon Jr., Polk; and Julie A. Bowser and her husband R. Mark, Jackson Center; a son, William A. Dilley and his wife Rene , North Royalton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Robert M. Moon III and his wife Dana, Polk; Veronica King and her husband Chad, and Victoria Stalker and her husband Valgene, all Stoneboro; Suzanne Renner and her husband Shane, and Joshua Dilley, all Nappanee, Ind.; Stephanie Dilley, North Ridgeville, Ohio; and Marcus Bowser and Pierce Bowser, both Jackson Center; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister Kathryn Hays and her husband Everett, Cochranton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dilley.
Calling hours were Wednesday (12-5-12) in Scott A. Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.
Funeral service was Thursday (12-6-12) in Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer St., Stoneboro, with the Rev. Nicholas E. Wilson, pastor, officiating.
Interment with committal service in Cochranton Cemetery.
