LaRue R. Dicks Shaw of Woodland Avenue, Grove City, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 96.
Mrs. Shaw was born May 13, 1916, in Punxsutawney, Pa., to Archibald G. Frew and Olive L. Crago Frew.
She had lived in Grove City for the past 15 years and, prior to that, resided in Hermitage.
Mrs. Shaw was a 1934 graduate of Farrell High School and had 20 years of service with Hermitage School District, where she had been a cook.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Hermitage; a former member of the Dames of Malta of Farrell; and a life member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 160, Farrell.
LaRue was very active in bowling when living in the Hermitage area.
She was first married to Chester B. Dicks, who died July 29, 1977; she then married Paul H. Shaw, who died Dec. 7, 2003.
Surviving are: a daughter, Roberta L. Glenn and her husband Richard A., Midlothian, Va.; a son, James C. Dicks, Grove City, with whom she resided; a stepdaughter, Lauri Shaw Wood and her husband Warren, Atlanta; and three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert F. Frew and Archie G. Frew.

A private funeral service was held.
Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
