GC woman was beautician, held office in Eastern Star

PINE — Anna Belle Jacobs of 401 Erie St., Grove City, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a lengthy illness. She was 87.

Mrs. Jacobs was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Irwin Township, Venango County, to William Joseph Campbell and Anna Jane Campbell.

She was a beautician most of her life and formerly owned Katie's Korner in Pine Township.

Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Peters Chapel United Methodist Church in the village of Nectarine, Venango County.

She belonged to Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86, Grove City, where she was a past worthy matron and past district deputy; and was a life member of White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Her husband, Edward M. Jacobs, whom she married July 18, 1953, passed away Sept. 25, 1987.

Surviving are two children, a daughter, Paige Barger, Grove City; and a son, Steve Jacobs, New Castle; and three grandsons, Jeff Barger and Steven Jacobs, both Grove City; and Scott Jacobs, Stanford, Calif.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edith Baker, Jean Baker and Wilda McCamey; and three brothers, John, Joe and Robert Campbell.

Calling hours were Monday (2-4-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Grove City.

Funeral service was Monday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Melody Kimmel, pastor of Peters Chapel United Methodist Church, Nectarine, officiating.

Interment in Clintonville United Methodist Cemetery, Venango County.
