Elton E. "Butch" Scriven of Pine Township passed away peacefully at 2:55 p.m. Friday (1-25-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. He was 68.
Born May 17, 1944, in Alliance, Ohio, Mr. Scriven was a son of Elton E. Scriven Sr. and Helen G. O'Neil Scriven.
Butch was a 1962 graduate of Lakeview High School.
For many years, he worked at Adobe Mining Co., Grove City, until it closed. He then went to work for Warren Fabricating, Hubbard, until his illness in July 2012.
Mr. Scriven was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era.
He was of the Protestant faith and loved camping, fishing and hunting.
His wife, the former Joyce M. Carlantonio, whom he married Oct. 24, 1981, survives at home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy L. Dickens and her husband Dwight; and Tracy L. Black and her husband Robert, all Stoneboro; a son, Martin E. Scriven, Butler County; three sisters, Mina Louise Phipps and her husband Joseph, Polk; and Emma Jane Horak and her husband Chuck; and Erma Jean Haun and her husband Melvin, all Sparta, Tenn.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents.

Butch requested before his death that services and burial be private.
