James 'Jim' F. McFadden

Cooper Energy retiree was woodworker, craftsman

PINE — James 'Jim' F. McFadden of Jackson Center, passed away at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a lengthy illness. He was 70.

Mr. McFadden was born April 5, 1942, in Grove City to Harry Daniel McFadden and Alameda A. Hovis McFadden.

He retired from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was a crane operator for most of his 37 years of employment.

Mr. McFadden was of the Methodist faith and was an avid woodworker and craftsman. Jim enjoyed building furniture and working on projects for family and friends.

His wife, the former Sandra L. Lightner, whom he married Jan. 22, 1988, survives at home.

Also surviving are two children, Sandra Paden and her husband Jeff, Jamestown, N.Y.; and Mark Daniel McFadden and his wife Brandy, Wesley, Venango County; a stepson, Steven McConnell and his wife LuAnn, Stoneboro; and four grandchildren and a stepgranddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours were Friday (1-25-13) and 10 a.m. to time of service today (1-26-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. today in the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.

Interment in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
