HERMITAGE —
God embraced Willie James 'Champ' Locke, 505 Spearman Ave., Farrell, in His soothing arms at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, after a brief illness, with his devoted wife at his side. He was 64.
Mr. Locke was born Sept. 10, 1948, in Sharon to Clifford Locke Sr. and Clara Mae Henry Locke.
He was formerly employed at Sharon Packing Co. and Gilko Paving, Mercer.
He was a faithful Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was dedicated to the Farrell Pee Wee and Midget cheerleaders.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, the former Mary Kay Yez, whom he married Aug. 29, 1987, although they had been together since May 30, 1971; and their daughter and son, Shawnte Jackson and Jermaine Jackson, all Farrell.
'Papa' will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Je'Sandra, Je'Juan, Je'Leil and Je'Mya, all Farrell; Alex, Sharon; and Jermaine, Texas.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his 10 sisters and brothers, Lillie Mae, Carrie, Liz, Mable, Riley Sr., James, Cliff and three infants.
Friends may visit at the home of Shawnte Jackson, deceased's daughter, 408 Spearman Ave., Farrell.
Memorial service was Tuesday (1-22-13) in Second Missionary Baptist Church, Farrell.
