GREENVILLE —
Ted R. Barr of District Road, Fairview Township, formerly of 53 Holmes Road, Mercer, passed away at 1:37 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 87.
Mr. Barr was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Mercer, a son of Clinton and Sara Morford Barr.
He had been employed for more than 35 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, having retired in 1983.
Mr. Barr was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army.
He had attended Jerusalem Christian Church, Greenville.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed square dancing and had been a member of the former Star Promenade Club.
On Nov. 4, 1945, he married the former Jo Riggs, who preceded him in death in 1991.
He is survived by a son, Clifford Barr, Grove City; two daughters, Ginny Adams and her husband Dale, Fredonia; and Mary Jo Haag and her husband Denny, Clintonville; a sister, Nell Carlson, Mercer; and 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, seven sisters and a great-granddaughter.

Interment in Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
