GROVE CITY —
Hilda Odette Asturias Darsie, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, died at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, in Orchard Manor, Grove City. She was 62.
Mrs. Darsie was born April 12, 1950 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Jose Gustavo Asturias and Marta Alicia Castellanos.
She married Richard Floyd Darsie, Jr. on June 17, 1982. He survives in Grove City.
She grew up in Guatemala City. After graduating from high school, she completed an additional year of vocational school.
Mrs. Darsie was an administrative assistant who worked in various industries, including insurance and agrochemical. She worked in the Biology Department at the University of Del Valle in Guatemala City.
She enjoyed crocheting.
Besides her husband, also surviving are: two daughters, Marlene B. Maloney, wife of John, Delran, N.J.; and M. Helen Darsie, Pasadena, Calif.; four nieces; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marta Adela Asturias Aguilar.
Calling hours were Tuesday (10-9-12) in Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock.
Funeral service was Wednesday (10-10-12) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Father Michael P. Allison, pastor of the Church of Beloved Disciple, Pine Township; and the Rev. F. Stanley Keehlwetter, interim pastor of Plain Grove Presbyterian Church and dean of chapel at Grove City College, officiating.
Interment in North Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
