Lillian Blanche Pearson, a resident of The Ridgewood, St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, entered into eternal rest at 6:49 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. She recently celebrated her 95th birthday.
Lillian was born Dec. 26, 1917, to William Irwin and Blanche Loutzenhiser Kamerer. Upon the death of her mother, Lillian was reared by her paternal grandparents.
She attended the former Penn High School in Greenville.
On June 28, 1935, she married Oscar Dillon Wagner. On Jan. 10, 1957, she married Dr. F.L. Thompson, who preceded her in death. She later married Clarence A. Pearson, who died Oct. 12, 2005.
Lillian was a homemaker and was later employed in retail shops, including nine years at Taylor Furs in Mercer.
For a time, she was church organist in what was then St. John's United Church of Christ near Fredonia.
Lillian was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer.
Love of family was most important in her life, after which came music, crossword puzzles and playing cards with friends.
Lillian loved people and was a friend to many. She thoroughly enjoyed her life at The Ridgewood, taking part in the many activities and programs provided for residents.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Podlaski and her husband John, Mercer; and Dottie Seger and her husband Richard, Fredonia; and three stepchildren, Carol McCann and her husband Bob, Rock Hill, S.C.; Kay Davidson and her husband Edward, Lothian, Md.; and Dean E. Pearson and his wife Mary Ellen, Harrisville.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, R. Jeffrey Seger and his wife Mary, Butler; Julia Bloom and her husband Jeremy, Cranberry Township; Susan Callahan and her husband Bryan, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Steven Podlaski and his wife Michelle, Cranberry Township; nine great-grandchildren, Vincent and Zachary Seger; Madison and Jacob Bloom; Nathan, Kevin and Allison Callahan; and Tyler and Kate Podlaski; and 10 stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands, Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Howard, Victor and Edgar Kamerer; a stepbrother, James Davidson; a daughter, Carol Celender; a son, William Wagner; and a stepdaughter, Mary Jo Palmer.
Calling hours were Thursday (1-17-13) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Mercer.
Funeral service was Friday (1-18-13) in Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer, with the Rev. Rick Vogeley, pastor of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer, and the Rev. Linda Miller-Pretz, United Church of Christ, co-officiating.
Interment in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's "Keeping the Promise" benevolent fund, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA 16125; or Bethany Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 100 W. Venango St., Mercer, PA 16137.
