FARRELL —
Fearn E. Peterson, Lori Lane, Hermitage, formerly of Mercer and Sharpsville, passed away early Saturday (1-12-13) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 100 years of age.
Mrs. Peterson was born March 27, 1912, in Fredonia, a daughter of Clara Redfoot and Ted Carter. She was subsequently adopted by her grandmother, Melissa Redfoot, who then raised her.
On May 1, 1940, she married George Monroe Peterson, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1984.
Fearn had been employed at the former Hotel Humes and Mercer Sanitarium.
She had been a member of the former Penn Avenue Baptist Church, Sharon.
She enjoyed being able to participate in activities at the senior center at the Salvation Army for more than 22 years, having served as a volunteer for 18 years.
She is survived by: a daughter, Rebecca Rogers and her husband Howard, Hermitage; a stepson, LaVern Peterson and his wife Judie, Jamestown, N.Y.; two half-brothers, Glenn Clark, Greenville; and Franklin Clark and his wife Marlene, Stoneboro; four grandchildren, a stepgrandson, two stepgranddaughters, five stepgreat-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband; a son, John Clayton Peterson; six brothers, Albert Redfoot, Walter Redfoot, Robert Redfoot, Arthur Redfoot, Raymond Redfoot and Howard Redfoot; six sisters, Clara Clark, Estella Stoffel, Nellie Hassell, Mary Campbell, Alice Voorhies and Hazel Leighty; and two half-brothers, Wilbur Clark and Charles Clark.

Burial in Millbank Cemetery, Fairview Township.
